SS Bombo - Sunday 11 November

We had two dives on Sunday as the final part of a PADI Wreck Diver course we conducted at United Divers Wollongong.  I also had one diver who was completing a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.

Both dives were on the SS Bombo, which lies in about 30m.  Viz was quite good at 8–12m, and water temp was a pleasant 17C, top-to-bottom.

Fishlife on the wreck was excellent.  So much so that the planned penetration on Dive 4 of the Wreck Diver course was aborted in favour of an external wreck dive.  This was due to there being so much to see on the outside of the wreck, and the presence of a huge wobbegong shark lying near the entrance of the planned penetration point.  Discretion is the better part of valour…..

Congratulations to Lee and Neville on completing their PADI Wreck Diver course, and to Tom for completing his Advanced Open Water Diver course.  Neville also completed his PADI Enriched Air Diver course.  Well done guys.

A special mention to Lee, who finished off the requirements to be certified as a PADI Master Scuba Diver.  Well done!
