Solomon Islands and Iceland Establish Diplomatic Relations

I noticed this post on the Solomon Islands Government Blog announcing that the Solomons have established diplomatic relations with Iceland.

I was particularly interested in this paragraph

Following the brief ceremony, the two countries held bilateral discussions on possible areas of cooperation and agreed to work towards putting in place cooperative arrangements in two areas: Fisheries and Energy.

I understand the Solomons can learn a lot from countries like Iceland about both fisheries and energies.  Iceland is a leader in both areas.

But I am concerned that Iceland is a whaling country, having restarted scientific whaling in 2002 and commercial whaling in October 2006 (from Wikipedia).  Iceland is however one of the whaling countries that has delved into sustainable whaling, and according to Wikipedia, the number of fin whales in Icelandic waters has grown to a stable level.
